Selfie League moves to McKinley Mall for June!

This month we’ll be playing four games (instead of the usual six):  Spider-Man (vault edition), Iron Man, Star Trek (pro) and the Walking Dead (pro)

How to play
It’s easy and anyone can participate! Here’s how:

  1. Play a machine that’s part of the monthly tournament (they’ll be marked with a “Selfie Tournament Game” sign)
  2. Take a selfie of you and the score you earned on that machine
  3. Upload your “selfie score” photo to the Buffalo Pinball Selfie League Facebook group

After nine months and 53 games of competitive pinball, we finally have our top finishers for the 2015–16 Buffalo Pinball League:

This is the league’s third successful sold out season. Twenty six players competed in the league from September 2015 – April 2016, with playoffs in May. The league meets in a mix of some of the best private collections in Buffalo, NY, as well as on location at Pocketeer Billiards.

Bruce Nightingale wins 2016 Buffalo Pinball Open

Bruce Nightingale went back-to-back and successfully defended his title, taking first place for the second consecutive year at the Buffalo Pinball Open on April 30, 2016 in Buffalo, NY. Rounding out the top four were Ryan Zlomek, second; Nick Lane, third; and Dave Urbanek, fourth.

A sold-out field of 26 players played through 5 hours of group match-play qualifying on 11 excellent games courtesy of our hosts, Martha Donovan and Nick Lane.

The playoffs, including semi-finals with Jordan Nittoli and Martha Donovan, were live streamed to our Twitch channel. You can see the archive of the playoff battle, complete with commentary, via the below archive on our YouTube channel.

The full final standings are below and will be posted to the IFPA for World Pinball Player Ranking points soon. Thanks to all who came out and helped make it a great event!

Buffalo Pinball League: Top Four 2015-16 Season Finalists and Final Standings

The regular season of the 2015-16 Buffalo Pinball League is complete! The top four finishers in each division are:

A Division
1. Bruce Nightingale
2. Nick Lane
3. Eric Russell
4. Kevin Manne

B Division
1. Doug Heerdt
2. Greg Sisti
3. David Bentivegna
4. Martha Donovan

These eight players will advance to finals, to be held Saturday, May 14. Practice will begin at 5 p.m. and play will begin at 6 p.m. as usual. Location is still to be determined.

During finals, there will be a side tournament for all 2015-16 league members who didn’t make the playoffs. The top finisher of the side tournament will earn FREE ENTRY into next year’s league!

Buffalo Pinball in Gameroom Magazine #3

Issue #3 of Gameroom Magazine started hitting subscriber’s mailboxes today and features a four page spread highlighting Buffalo Pinball and Pocketeer Billiards and Bar. The story is titled “Pool and Pinball” and documents the resurgence of pinball in Western New York, our many leagues and tournaments, our Twitch stream and the explosion of new pins at Pocketeer.

As of this writing, issue 3 of the magazine is not yet for sale on the Gameroom Magazine site, but should be available soon (UPDATE: The issue is now available). In the meantime you can check out some other photos of the magazine over at Pinball Supernova.

Doors open at noon, tournament play begins promptly at 1 p.m.

Format: 4.5 hours of match play with playoffs for the top 6. WPPR points will be awarded.

Cost: $20
(80% goes to payout and trophies, 20% goes to machine maintenance costs. No refunds after April 1.)
