New pinball league at Misuta Chow’s!

Misuta Chow's League PosterWe’re stoked to kick off a brand new, casual pinball league at one of the hottest spots in Buffalo, Misuta Chow’s! Here’s the info:

Where: Misuta Chow’s, 521 Main St., Buffalo

When: 6-10 p.m. on Sept 11, Oct. 9, Nov. 13 and Dec. 11 (show up at any time to play the three games for the month)

How it works: Intended to be a casual league, just show up any time between 6-10 p.m. to play the three games selected for that month.

Each player will have two attempts per machine with their highest score counting towards that month’s standings. Scores will be ranked using linear scoring (100, 99, 98, 97, 96…and so on)

Overall standings will be tabulated after each meetup and used to determine final playoff seedings (best three months out of four).

Cost is $5 to enter each month (+ coindrop) and the top three players of each month will be paid out accordingly (percentage of overall entry fees):

  • 3-7 players: 50/40/10
  • 8-12 players: 40/30/20/10
  • 13-16 players: 30/25/15/15/10 + 5 paid to a random winner

Note: $5 each month + $1 collected only ONCE per season for IFPA submission

To encourage new players to come out and give pinball a try, there will be a random award (Miusta Chow’s ‘swag’/bar tab) given away.

All rules and other pertinent information (standings, rules, etc.) about the league are available on the new Misuta Chow’s League page.

Community Beer Works Pinball Weekend March 8-11

We’re stoked to partner up with Community Beer Works for the return of the Pinball Weekend to benefit Boys and Girls Clubs of the Northtowns!

March 8-11
Community Beer Works, 15 Lafayette Ave., Buffalo, NY

All the info is over on the CBW Facebook Event listing, but here’s a rundown. Stop down and join us for a fun event to benefit a great cause!

We have a thing for beer. We have a thing for pinball. We have a thing for being charitable. We have a thing for doing something more than once.

PINBALL

We’re brining back CBW Pinball Weekend for a second year! All weekend we’ll have several machines here for your pinball enjoyment, courtesy of Buffalo Pinball & Arcade Company.

BEER

On Friday 3/9, we’re brining back Rage Tilt APA, an easy drinking 5.5% ABV American pale ale made with Amarillo, Galaxy, and Azacca hops with lots of tropical fruits and citrus meant for knockin’ the chrome balls around.

CHARITY

Half of all the coins pumped into our pinball games will be donated to The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Northtowns. Additionally, $1 of each pint you purchase over the weekend will go toward the charity (so drink up).

TOURNAMENT

Fancy yourself good at pinball? Tournament good? We’ll be holding another pinball tournament…but first, practice:

On Saturday 3/10, Buffalo Pinball will hold 30 minute training sessions from 2-6pm to help you get ready for the tournament. Sessions are included with a $5 donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northtowns. Each 30-minute session will include three people. Simply come to the brewery if you don’t mind having a pint while you wait for the next open session, or message us here if you’d like to sign up for a specific session ahead of time.

On Sunday 3/11 we’ll have our Second Annual Charity Pinball Tournament. Qualifying rounds will be held from 11am-4pm. A $1 donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northtowns gets you one registration into the tournament—you can try more than once! For each attempt, you’ll receive a raffle ticket to win prizes. There will be three machines to qualify on. You need to play each machine at least once, but can keep playing them to try to improve your score.

Playoffs start promptly at 4pm for the top six qualifiers, with the top two getting byes straight to the finals. Playoffs will be two rounds, one game each round.

We’ll post here about the specific games and prizes, as well as other goodies being featured that weekend (like tasty new beer releases). Until then, practice up on your pinball skills and get ready to join us every day for Pinball Weekend 2 at CBW!
