The first of three tournaments at Pocketeer Billiards and Bar this summer is quickly approaching! They’ve been stocking up on games in preparation for the tournaments, here’s the lineup as of 6/19/14:

1. Match play will begin at 1:30 p.m. and continue until 5 p.m.
2. After that, the playoffs will begin. The number of players who advance to the playoffs will be based on the total number registered in the tournament:
   • <20 registered players, top 4 advance
   • 20-40 registered players, top 8 advance
   • 40+ players, top 12 advance
3. The tournament games will not be on free play so be sure to bring cash for the coin drop. Pocketeer does have an ATM on site if you need.

Congratulations to Eric Russell for taking first place in the IFPA Oursler Tournament – Buffalo, hosted by Bruce Nightingale on May 17 in Bloomfield, NY. The top four finishers were:

In all, 30 players from all across New York State and even from as far away as Connecticut and Ontario, Canada gathered for a day of fun in the name of a good cause. We raised $826 to benefit pinball designer Barry Oursler and his wife Donna!

The final standings are up on Brackelope, and will be posted to the IFPA within the next week or so. Thank you to everyone who came out to play and to the businesses and individuals who donated raffle/auction prizes:

Good news, pinball fans – Buffalo Pinball has arranged for an open, match-play pinball tournament series this summer at Pockteer Billiards and Bar, 2444 Clinton St. in Buffalo!

The competitions will take place June 21, July 26 and Aug. 23 and are IFPA endorsed, so you’ll earn World Pinball Player Ranking Points. You can play in one, two or all three of the tournaments.

Cost is $10 per tournament, registration begins at 12:30 p.m. at Pocketeer and play will begin at 1:30 p.m. for each event. 100% of the money collected will be paid out to the winners. The number of payouts depends on the number of registrants.
